For a long time now, pressure washers have been great devices to help us clean different types of surfaces. It could be cleaning your patio furniture, decks, driveways, among many others. These pressure washers would have different nozzle tips to help tailor them to different applications.

Today, we look at some of the best electric pressure washers in the market. The two include Sun Joe SPX3001 and SPX3000. These two are great in every way possible, but sometimes you just have to get one. So, which one will it be? Let us look at some of the features that tell them apart.

Sun Joe SPX3001 Vs. SPX3000

Similar Features

Sun Joe as a brand has been involved in the business of pressure washers for long. As a result, it is one of the best options to consider right now. Well, the SPX3001 is an update of the Sun Joe SPX3000 model. As much as it is an update, you will note that most of the performance ratings and other important specs remain unchanged. Here we look at some of the features that these two share.

  • The motor

First up is the motors of the washes. These two units both use the same 14.5-amp motor. It is able to deliver an impressive 2030PSI in terms of water pressure. As for the flow rate, expect to get up to 1.76GPM. For most users, they find the models being water-conscious. This is because they can help you further conserve water and still clean better.

  • The wheels

The wheels always come in handy to ensure you end up having an easier time moving the pressure washer from one location to the other. This model comes with two carry wheels at the bottom. As a result, going over different terrains should be a breeze. The best part is that these units are still lightweight. Combining being lightweight and having wheels makes it so easy to take it out of storage whenever you have to do some cleaning.

  • Total Stop System

These two units come with the Total Stop System (TSS) as a measure to prevent the wastage of water and energy. This is where whenever the pressure hose is idle, then the electric motor will disengage. It will also help in preventing any damage to the motor, keep the energy use to a minimum, and extend the unit’s usability.

Other Features

Now that we have looked at the similarities, it would be great to check out the differences. These are the features that tell them apart and might be what you need to end up with the best of the two. Let us look at these features below.

  • Soap tank

The SPX3000 is ideal for washing different surfaces thanks to having multiple soap tanks. These soap tanks come with a capacity of 30.4 flour ounce soap capacity. The best part is that you can house two different types of soaps and use either whenever the need arises. Most users would choose one tank for the paint-sensitive soap while the other tank to hold the more heavy-duty soap for handling grime.

On the other hand, the SPX3001 comes with only one tank. However, its tank is larger as it has a capacity of 40.6 floor-ounces of soap. Well, it is expected that having one tank has the drawback of using only one type of soap. If you have to switch surfaces, then you also have to drain the tank first. With its large tank, it is possible to clean a large surface area on just one tank.

  • Hose reel
Hose reel

Having the best hose length will always make your work of cleaning outdoors easier. This is because it allows for you to move around with ease. It will also be great if the unit has a hose reel as it allows for ease of collecting the hose so as to keep it from damage. The SPX3000 does not have the hose reel feature. This makes it harder for the users as they have to collect the hose manually for storage.

On the other hand, the SPX3001 hose reel is a nice upgrade over the previous model. If you have dealt with long hoses before, then you know just how important it is to have a hose reel. Luckily for this model, the 20-foot hose will be wound up in no time whenever you need to store it away.

  • Hot water
hot water

We all know that hot or warm water is good for removing of grime from different surfaces. It will be great if you have to clean oil spills in your driveway and you have a machine that can handle hot water. Well, that machine is the SPX3000 model. It will work great with warm water of temperatures up to 104 degrees F. The water can flow into the inlet and then sprayed out through the wand.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the SPX3001 model. This is because the internal components of the model are not designed to handle hot water. As a result, the SPX3001 is only designed to work with cold water. As much as it does not use hot water, with its pressure, it can still help get rid of the mess with consistent washing.

Bottom Line

From the features we have looked at above, it is easy to see that only the hose reel feature of the SPX3001 makes it outshine the SPX3000. As a result, it might not be always the deciding factor among those who are comparing the two. Considering that the two has the same PSI and GPM ratings, it should be possible for most to go for the SPX3000 model. With it, you will end up with dual tanks for two different soap types and still has the hot water compatibility.

As much as this is the case, it does not mean choosing the SPX3001 will make you end up with a bad pressure washer, only that the SPX3000 is more versatile. Even if it does not have a hose reel, you will always find it easier to clean deep grime with the SPX3000.
